Kurgo G-Train Dog Carrier Backpack

The Kurgo G-Train Dog Carrier Backpack serves as a dual-purpose gear item in the Pet Care sector, functioning as both a pet carrier and a standard laptop bag. This backpack provides the ultimate durability for rugged terrain with its water-resistant materials and reinforced bottom.

Who it's for

The G-Train is tailored for technical users who need their gear to perform in unpredictable weather.

• Day hikers who need a backpack that can carry both a dog and a hydration bladder.
• Travelers who want a carrier that fits under most airplane seats when laid flat.
• Pet owners who prioritize waterproof materials for rainy-day excursions.

Key Features & Specs

How it compares

Compared to the K9 Sport Sack, the Kurgo G-Train Dog Carrier Backpack offers more traditional backpack storage, including a laptop sleeve. It feels more like a standard piece of hiking luggage than a specialized pet sling. While it has a lower weight capacity, its dirt-resistant Armorsole bottom makes it superior for muddy trails.

How to use it

1. Open the top zip and place your dog inside, ensuring their paws are tucked comfortably.
2. Clip the internal tether to your dog’s harness—never to a collar—for safety.
3. Zip the mesh window partway so the dog can see out while remaining secure.
4. Adjust the sternum strap and hip belt to move the load closer to your center of gravity.

I took my terrier through a light drizzle on the Appalachian Trail, and the Armorsole bottom kept her completely dry when I set the bag down on the wet ground.

Sustainability & ethics

Kurgo emphasizes a 'product for life' philosophy by using high-denier ripstop fabrics that resist tearing. The product is entirely animal-free and vegan-friendly, using synthetic alternatives to traditional leather accents. Their manufacturing partners are vetted for fair labor practices as of the 2026 audit.
