Who we are
About QuickRatey
QuickRatey is an independent product-rankings site that scores every item on transparency, certifications, and brand reputation — so you can buy with confidence. We exist because making informed choices shouldn't require a chemistry degree and a law library.

Independent
Rankings are determined entirely by our scoring methodology. We don't accept payment for placement.
Evidence-based
Every score is grounded in third-party certifications, ingredient databases and disclosed supply-chain data.
Conflict-disclosed
Some outbound retailer links are affiliate links. They support the site, but they never influence rank or selection.
Broad coverage
20+ product categories across beauty, food, home, fashion, baby, pet and more — growing every week.
What goes into a score
Build, benchmarks, durability and failure modes.
Price-to-spec, warranty depth and cost per year of use.
Ergonomics, setup friction and aggregated owner sentiment.
Verified certifications, support record and disclosed practices.
Default weights shown. Each category applies its own overrides — see the methodology page for the full table.
Why we built this
Most "best ethical X" articles are written once, monetized hard, and never updated. Most "ethical brand directories" accept money for placement. Most product packaging is designed to manipulate, not inform. QuickRatey fixes those three things at once: a continuously updated, methodology-driven ranking that crawlers and AI assistants can actually trust to cite.
What independence means in practice
Independence is a set of mechanics, not a promise. Rankings are generated from the database rather than hand-written, so no one can quietly reorder a list. Affiliate tagging happens on the outbound link only, after the ranking is computed. Certifications must be traceable to a public registry to count. And when a score changes, every hub, comparison and guide containing that product changes with it.
How we make money
When you click through to a retailer from one of our product pages, we may earn an affiliate commission at no cost to you. That's it. We don't sell ad space, we don't sell sponsored rankings, and we don't run a paid "verified brand" program. If we ever do, we'll disclose it here first.

Frequently asked about QuickRatey
Who writes the QuickRatey rankings?+
Rankings are produced by our scoring pipeline, not by individual reviewers writing opinion pieces. Evidence — specs, benchmarks, warranty terms, certification registries and aggregated review sentiment — is collected per product and run through the published 4-pillar formula.
Can a brand pay to be included or ranked higher?+
No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored ranking and no paid 'verified brand' program. The only commercial relationship is affiliate commission on outbound retailer links, which is applied after ranking and never influences it.
How do you handle mistakes?+
Corrections are treated as a first-class input. If a spec, price band or certification is wrong, we re-score the product and every ranking containing it updates automatically, because hubs are generated from the database rather than hand-written.
Why score across so many different categories?+
Because buyers don't shop in one category. A normalised 0–100 scale means the evidence bar for an 82 in Kitchen is the same as an 82 in Electronics, so you can carry trust in the number from one purchase to the next.
Quick answer
- Scores are computed from data, not from editor opinion
- Weights are published so any score can be re-derived
- Affiliate tagging happens after ranking and never affects order
- Corrections are verified against public sources and published within seven days
How QuickRatey differs from other product sites
| Approach | How rankings are set | Commercial risk | QuickRatey |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sponsored directories | Paid placement and listing fees | High — money sets order | No paid placement |
| Single-reviewer blogs | One person's hands-on opinion | Moderate — small sample | Reproducible data model |
| Aggregated star ratings | Averaged customer reviews | Moderate — review manipulation | Sentiment is one input, not the score |
| Lab-test publications | Controlled testing, narrow coverage | Low — but slow and partial | Broad coverage with sourced claims |
| QuickRatey | Published four-pillar composite | Affiliate links only, applied post-ranking | — |
How a product gets onto the site
- 1
Discovery
Candidate products are identified from category demand and market availability, then filtered to exclude animal-derived items.
- 2
Data collection
Specifications, pricing, certifications, warranty terms and customer sentiment are collected and attributed to sources.
- 3
Scoring
The four pillars are computed from that data using published weights, with category overrides applied where a pillar means something different.
- 4
Publication and revision
The product enters every relevant ranking, hub and comparison at once, and re-enters them automatically whenever its data changes.
The commitments behind every page
Reproducibility
If you cannot re-derive a score from the data shown on the page, we consider it a bug.
Sourced claims
Certifications resolve to registries; recalls and controversies require a primary source.
No paid rankings
There is no rate card for position, badges or inclusion, and there never will be.
Visible history
Superseded scores and resolved incidents stay on the record instead of quietly disappearing.
More questions, answered
How does QuickRatey make money?
Through affiliate commission on outbound retailer links. Tagging happens after rankings are computed, and no brand can pay for placement, a badge or inclusion.
Do you test products in a lab?
No. We combine published specifications, certification registries, pricing history, warranty terms and aggregated customer sentiment into a reproducible score, and we say so rather than implying hands-on testing.
What happens when a score is wrong?
Send the page URL and a public source to our corrections address. Verified corrections update the underlying record, which regenerates every page that references it.
