How it compares
The PetAmi Deluxe Pet Carrier Backpack offers more storage pockets and included accessories than many competitors in its price bracket. While it lacks the extreme airflow of the K9 Sport Sack, it provides a much more stable base for pets who prefer to sit or lie down. It is more rugged than typical "fashion" pet carriers, making it better suited for dirt trails.
How to use it
- Unzip the front or top mesh window to allow your pet to enter.
- Clip the interior safety leash to your pet's harness to prevent escape.
- Ensure the pet is seated comfortably on the soft Sherpa-lined base.
- Lift the backpack and secure both the chest and waist buckles to prevent shifting.
- Check the side mesh windows frequently to ensure your pet is not showing signs of heat stress.
Verified buyer: Solid construction and the waist strap really helps on the uphill climbs; highly recommended for dogs under 15 lbs.
Sustainability & ethics
PetAmi uses 100% vegan polyester and synthetic linings in all their carriers, avoiding any use of animal skin or fur. Their products are designed to be multi-functional to decrease the need for separate travel bags. The company is actively auditing its supply chain to ensure fair labor practices in its manufacturing facilities.
Pro tip
For added stability on steep descents, keep the chest strap tight to prevent the carrier from bouncing against your shoulder blades.
