How it compares
Unlike lightweight litters that track easily across floors, Dr. Elsey's Ultra features heavy granules that stay in the box. While crystal litters offer convenience, this clay formula allows for more precise scooping and better moisture absorption, making it a more economical choice for long-term use compared to alternative plant-fiber litters.
How to use it
- Fill a clean, dry litter box with at least 3 to 4 inches of the litter.
- For best results, scoop out waste daily to maintain freshness.
- Add fresh litter as needed to maintain the 4-inch depth.
- Completely empty and wash the litter box once a month with soap and water.
- Dispose of waste according to local municipal guidelines; do not flush.
"Finally, a litter that doesn't leave a cloud of dust every time I pour it, and it keeps the smell down in my two-cat apartment." — Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
Dr. Elsey’s is a family-owned brand that focuses on feline health as its primary mission. They source high-quality clay within the United States and avoid the use of harsh chemical perfumes or plant-based attractants that can trigger allergies in sensitive cats.
Pro tip
Ensure you maintain at least four inches of litter; if the layer is too thin, urine can stick to the bottom of the pan, making cleaning more difficult.
