How it compares
The Bureo Minnow Cruiser Skateboard stands out against traditional plastic cruisers and wooden longboards by utilizing NetPlus material. Unlike standard plastic boards that rely on virgin petroleum-based nylon, this product actively removes waste from the ocean. It offers a more flexible, dampening ride compared to maple boards while remaining significantly more weather-resistant than bamboo alternatives.
What to know before buying
- Check the 25-inch deck size to ensure it fits your stance comfortably.
- Inspect the grip tape pattern which is molded directly into the recycled material for longevity.
- Understand that the recycled nylon has more flex than traditional wood, providing built-in suspension.
- Verify that the wheels are tightened to your preference before your first ride in the city.
- Note that the board is fully waterproof, making it ideal for coastal environments.
"The build quality of this Bureo board is exceptional; it feels sturdy yet springy, and knowing it's made from old fishing nets makes every ride feel better." - Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
Bureo collects discarded fishing nets from coastal communities in South America, preventing them from becoming 'ghost nets' that harm marine life. The frames are manufactured in California, ensuring fair labor practices and a transparent supply chain. The packaging is minimal and uses 100% recycled cardboard without any plastic films or ties.
Pro tip
Pairs perfectly with a recycled nylon backpack for a fully circular commuting kit.
