Key features & specs

How it compares

When compared to traditional upholstered bed frames or heavy solid-oak platforms, Floyd offers significantly better portability. It eliminates the bulk of a box spring and outlasts cheap flat-pack alternatives by using high-grade American steel and birch rather than particle board or animal-based glues.

What to know before buying

1. Measure your mattress carefully as the platform is designed to sit low to the ground.
2. Ensure your floor is level, as the sleek steel legs do not feature adjustable height pegs.
3. Consider the optional headboard at the time of purchase to ensure matching finishes.
4. Walnut and Birch finishes may vary slightly due to the natural grain of the wood.
5. The bed is shipped in several flat boxes which are heavy but manageable for one person.

"The assembly was incredibly intuitive, and I love that I can add panels later if I upgrade my mattress size—it feels like a lifetime piece of furniture." — Verified buyer

Sustainability & ethics

Floyd focuses on reducing furniture waste by creating products that are repairable and expandable. The Birch plywood is FSC-certified, ensuring responsible forest management, and the steel supports are manufactured in US factories with fair labor standards and are fully recyclable at end-of-life.
