Key features & specs

How it compares

Unlike plastic bath boats that may contain BPA or phthalates, this planToy sailboat is made from sustainable wood with no harmful chemicals. It competes with silicone bath toys (which can still trap moisture) and foam bath puzzles (often short-lived). For a premium, plastic-free option, the PlanToys boat offers unmatched durability and environmental integrity.

What to know before buying

1. Wipe the boat dry after each bath and store it in a well-ventilated area to prevent wood swelling.
2. Because it is unpainted natural wood, avoid soaking for extended periods — surface wipe only.
3. PlanToys uses non-toxic, water-based dyes, so slight color transfer may occur initially; rinse before first use.
4. This toy is not recommended for children under 12 months due to small parts (the mast).
5. It pairs well with other PlanToys water items for a cohesive eco-themed bath set.

"Our 18-month-old loves this little boat. It floats perfectly and we love that it's wood, not plastic. No mold issues so far after three months of use." — Verified buyer

Sustainability & ethics

PlanToys sources reclaimed rubberwood from rubber trees that have ceased latex production, uses only organic pigments and water-based adhesives, and packages in FSC-certified, plastic-free materials. The company operates a zero-waste factory in Thailand and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PlanToys Sailboat safe for babies under 1 year?

The manufacturer recommends ages 12 months and older due to the detachable mast; for younger infants, always supervise and remove small parts.

Does this wooden boat get moldy like plastic bath toys?

No — because PlanToys uses solid rubberwood with a water-resistant but breathable finish, mold is far less likely than with hollow plastic toys that trap water inside.

Can I leave the boat in the bath all the time?

We recommend removing and drying it after each session to preserve the wood and prevent staining from bath additives.

How does this compare to a silicone bath boat?

Silicone boats are softer but may not float as well; the PlanToys sailboat offers classic buoyancy and a traditional aesthetic while still being nontoxic and eco-friendly.

Is the paint lead-free?

Yes, PlanToys uses only water-based, non-toxic, lead-free dyes that surpass international safety standards.
