Key features & specs

How it compares

In the world of dashboard cameras, the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 stands out by removing the screen entirely. While larger models from competitors offer onboard playback, the Garmin relies on a seamless smartphone app integration. This trade-off allows for a much smaller physical size, which reduces heat absorption and improves driver visibility. Its voice command feature is significantly more responsive than many budget alternatives in the same price bracket.

What to know before buying

1. The unit does not have a screen; all setup and video playback occur via the Garmin Drive app.
2. A high-speed MicroSD card is required but not included in the standard retail box.
3. To use the "Parking Guard" feature, you must purchase a separate constant-power cable.
4. Cloud storage is free for the first 24 hours of video, with paid plans for longer retention.
5. Mounting is done via a small adhesive disc, which is very stable but semi-permanent.

"You literally forget it's there until you need it. The voice commands work perfectly for saving clips manually while driving." — Verified buyer
