Key features & specs

How it compares

When compared to traditional steel trowels, the Fiskars Ergo Trowel offers significantly better rust resistance due to its polished aluminum construction. Unlike wooden-handled tools, the synthetic grip does not splinter or degrade when exposed to moisture over multiple seasons. It provides a more balanced weight distribution than standard plastic alternative tools found in big-box stores.

How to use it

1. Identify the planting area and ensure the soil is slightly moist for easier penetration.
2. Grip the ergonomic handle firmly, allowing the thumb rest to guide your leverage.
3. Insert the polished aluminum head into the soil at a 45-degree angle.
4. Use a scooping motion to remove dirt or create a hole for transplants.
5. Wipe the blade clean with a dry cloth after use to maintain the polished finish.
