How it compares
Unlike standard plastic magnetic tiles which can crack and expose small magnets, Earthtiles Wooden Magnetic Building Blocks feature a solid wood construction that is significantly more durable. While plastic versions offer transparency and bright colors, the natural aesthetic of Big Future Toys encourages a calmer sensory experience and fits seamlessly into modern home decor. Compared to basic wooden blocks, the magnetic attraction allows for much taller and more complex structural engineering, bridging the gap between traditional blocks and modern construction sets.
What to know before buying
- Verify the surface; these work best on flat, non-carpeted floors for maximum stability.
- Be aware that natural wood grain varies, meaning every set of Earthtiles is visually unique.
- Store them in a dry place, as excessive moisture can affect the natural wood texture over time.
- Supervise younger children to ensure they understand how to snap the magnets together gently.
"The quality of Earthtiles is unmatched; they feel substantial in the hand and the magnets are surprisingly strong for a wooden toy." — Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
Big Future Toys utilizes FSC-certified birch wood for all components, ensuring that every tree harvested is replaced. The production process avoids all synthetic lacquers and glues, utilizing plant-based finishes that are safe for children and the planet. The packaging is 100% recyclable cardboard with zero plastic inserts.
Pro tip
Use these blocks near a window during the day; while not transparent like plastic, the natural light beautifully highlights the birch wood grain during complex builds.
