How it compares
Unlike tablet-based coding apps or plastic-heavy robotic cars, Primo Toys focuses on a tactile language that uses physical blocks to represent commands. While most coding robots for beginners require a smartphone or Bluetooth connection, this system is entirely self-contained, making it a more durable and focused educational tool. It competes primarily with button-based plastic robots and magnetic tile sets, yet offers a more sophisticated logical progression through its unique 'function' block.
How to use it
- Place the Cubetto robot on the center of the fabric world map.
- Insert the colorful direction blocks into the wooden interface board to create a sequence.
- Use the blue 'function' block to teach the robot a repeated pattern or subroutine.
- Press the large blue button to execute the code and watch the robot move.
- Follow the included storybooks to complete specific navigation challenges.
"The Cubetto Playset transformed how my four-year-old understands logic; it is the most intuitive STEM toy we have ever owned." — Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
Primo Toys utilizes FSC-certified linden plywood for the main robot body and interface board, ensuring responsible forestry practices. The product is 100% vegan, containing no animal-derived glues or finishes, and the brand maintains a commitment to reducing plastic waste in their packaging by utilizing structured cardboard inserts.
Pro tip
Introduce the 'Function' block early to help children understand the concept of efficiency in code, showing them how one block can represent a multi-step sequence.
