Key features & specs

How it compares

When compared to entry-level corded electric trimmers, the Worx WG163 GT 3.0 provides significantly more mobility without the hassle of extension cords. It competes directly with mid-range battery-powered trimmers but stands out due to its integrated tilting head and spacer guard, which are often sold as separate accessories by other manufacturers. While it may lack the raw torque of 60V professional-grade models, its weight-to-power ratio makes it superior for detail work around flower beds and walkways.

How to use it

1. Charge the Power Share battery fully before your first session in the garden.
2. Adjust the telescopic shaft length and the D-handle position to match your height for optimal posture.
3. Press the Command Feed button to extend the trimmer line without needing to bump the head on the ground.
4. Pivot the trimmer head 90 degrees and drop the twin-wheel set to convert the tool into a precision walker-edger.
5. Clean the grass shield after use to prevent debris buildup and maintain motor efficiency.

The Command Feed button is a game-changer because I no longer have to stop and bang the trimmer on the sidewalk to get more line.

Sustainability & ethics

The Worx brand emphasizes longevity through their Power Share battery platform, which allows the same 20V battery to be used across hundreds of tools, significantly reducing electronic waste. The packaging for the WG163 GT 3.0 utilizes FSC Certified cardboard, and the absence of a gas engine means zero localized carbon emissions during operation, promoting a healthier home environment.
