Key features & specs

How it compares

Compared to standard plastic travel mugs, the Owala SmoothSip Slider offers superior insulation and a more durable build. It competes with other stainless steel tumblers like the Ember Tumbler, but Owala's slider lid provides easier one-handed use for coffee drinkers on the move. Unlike glass alternatives, this tumbler is shatterproof and lighter for daily carry.

What to know before buying

1. Measure your car cup holder diameter; the 16 oz size fits most standard holders.
2. Preheat or pre-cool the tumbler by rinsing with hot or cold water before filling for maximum temperature retention.
3. Avoid putting the tumbler in the microwave or freezer; hand washing preserves the vacuum seal.
4. Remove the lid gasket periodically to clean thoroughly and prevent mold buildup.
5. Pair with a reusable straw (sold separately) for iced coffee convenience.

"I love this tumbler for my morning coffee commute. The slider lid is so smooth, and my drink stays hot for hours. Perfect addition to my coffee starter kit." — Verified buyer

Frequently asked questions

Is the Owala SmoothSip Slider dishwasher safe?

The lid is top-rack dishwasher safe, but the stainless steel body should be hand washed to preserve the vacuum insulation and prevent scratches.

Does the Owala SmoothSip Slider fit in a standard car cup holder?

Yes, the 16 oz size fits most standard car cup holders, but larger sizes may be too wide — check measurements before purchasing if you drive often.

How does the Owala SmoothSip Slider compare to the Ember Mug?
