Key features & specs

How it compares

While heavier than the Copper Spur, the MSR Elixir 3 offers much thicker floor and fly materials, making it less prone to punctures. It competes directly with mid-range aluminum-pole tents, offering superior head and shoulder room due to its transverse ridge pole. Unlike budget fiberglass-pole tents, the Elixir uses high-grade aluminum that won't shatter in high winds.

How to use it

1. Lay out the tent body and assemble the color-coded poles.
2. Snap the pole ends into the grommets and attach the tent clips.
3. Place the red ridge pole across the top to pull the side walls vertical.
4. Drape the rainfly over and secure it to the pole ends.
5. Staking out the vestibules creates a large storage area for muddy boots and packs.
