Key features & specs

How it compares

Unlike standard playing card decks or games like UNO, Five Crowns introduces a dynamic wild card that changes each round, keeping the strategy fresh. Compared to Phase 10, Five Crowns has a faster learning curve and a more compact storage tin, making it a better choice for beginners.

What to know before buying

1. Decide on the number of players—ideally 3 to 5 for the best balance of speed and competition.
2. Each player starts with 3 cards in round one; the round number determines the hand size for that round.
3. Draw one card from the deck or the discard pile, then discard one card.
4. The wild card changes each round (e.g., round 5 uses 5s as wild), adding strategic depth.
5. First player to go out ends the round; remaining players tally points from unplayed cards.
6. The game ends when a player reaches 500 points or after a set number of rounds.
