How it compares
When compared to traditional open bins, the FCMP Outdoor IM4000 significantly reduces odors and prevents pest access. It is lighter and easier to move than heavy metal tumblers, though it lacks the insulation required for deep winter composting in northern states.
How to use it
- Fill one chamber with a mix of greens and browns until full.
- Rotate the drum 5-10 times after every addition of new material.
- Switch to the second chamber while the first finishes its curing cycle.
- Harvest finished compost from the first door after 2-4 weeks in summer heat.
"Perfect for our small backyard; the dual chambers mean I always have a place for my vegetable peelings." — Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
FCMP Outdoor utilizes 100% post-consumer recycled plastic for the drum body. The BPA-free construction ensures that no harmful chemicals leach into the compost that eventually feeds your edible plants.
Pro tip
Keep the tumbler in a sunny spot to maximize solar heat gain, which accelerates the microbial activity inside the drum.
