Key features & specs

How it compares

When compared to synthetic polypropylene rugs, the Pottery Barn Bleached Ivory Basketweave Jute Rug offers superior breathability and a much lower carbon footprint. Unlike wool-blend rugs, this 100% jute option is entirely vegan and free from animal-derived fibers. While some seagrass rugs can feel sharp or waxy, the bleached jute used by Pottery Barn provides a softer underfoot feel that matures gracefully over time.

What to know before buying

1. Expect natural shedding during the first few weeks of use in your home.
2. Use a high-quality rug pad to prevent slipping and protect your hardwood floors.
3. Avoid using a vacuum with a beater bar, as it can fray the handwoven fibers.
4. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing the material.
5. Natural color variations are common due to the organic nature of the jute plant.
