Key features & specs

How it compares

Compared to the Sow Right Seeds collection, the Seed Needs version offers nearly double the coverage area at a slightly lower price point, making it a strong competitor for large gardens. However, unlike some premium organic mixes, this collection is not certified organic, though all seeds are non-GMO. For shoppers choosing between the two, Seed Needs is the better bang-for-your-buck option if organic certification isn't a top priority.

How to use it

1. Prepare the planting area by removing debris and loosening the top 2 inches of soil.
2. Mix the seeds with dry sand for even distribution if desired.
3. Scatter the seeds directly onto the soil surface and press them in lightly.
4. Water the area gently to avoid washing seeds away, and keep moist until germination.
5. Thin seedlings if they are overcrowded to ensure healthy growth.
6. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage prolonged blooming.

“I bought this for a large empty lot next to my house and within one season it was a beautiful meadow. Bees showed up within weeks. Great value for the size.” — Verified buyer

Sustainability & ethics

Seed Needs sources its seeds from sustainable farms in the USA and uses recyclable paper packaging. The company does not test on animals, earning a cruelty-free certification. While not organic, the non-GMO status and large pack size reduce plastic waste per seed.
