Key features & specs

How it compares

Unlike many children's gardening toys that use cheap plastic pots and non-organic seeds, Sproutly utilizes biodegradable rice hull vessels that can be transplanted directly into the ground. It avoids the common use of bone meal or blood meal found in many organic garden kits, opting instead for a 100% vegan nutrient profile.

How to use it

1. Hydrate the compressed coconut coir discs with warm water until they expand.
2. Fill the biodegradable rice hull pots with the expanded soil medium.
3. Plant the organic seeds at the recommended depth shown in the colorful instruction booklet.
4. Label the pots using the included wooden garden markers.
5. Keep the soil moist and place in a sunny spot to watch the sprouts appear within 7 days.

The Sproutly Kids Organic Windowsill Garden was the highlight of our spring; my kids loved seeing the peas climb the window frame.

Sustainability & ethics

Sproutly commits to a circular economy by using rice hulls—a byproduct of rice farming—to create their pots, which eventually break down safely in the soil. All seeds are USDA Organic certified, protecting local pollinators from synthetic pesticides, and the entire kit is free from animal-derived fertilizers, making it a truly vegan garden option.
