Key features & specs

How it compares

Compared to a standard mobile hotspot from a carrier (which often locks you into one network) or a portable travel router without eSIM (which requires swapping physical SIMs), the Roam 6 offers a more flexible, carrier‑agnostic solution. It also outperforms generic USB‑C tethered routers by providing a real Wi‑Fi 6 dual‑band network rather than a simple 2.4 GHz connection.

What to know before buying

1. Verify that your device supports eSIM or that you are comfortable using the router’s web interface to activate a plan.
2. Check the coverage map for your destination – Roam eSIM works in 180+ countries but may have slower speeds in remote areas.
3. Understand that the router does not have an internal battery; it must be plugged into USB‑C power (wall adapter or power bank).
4. Consider purchasing a data plan directly from the Roam app or website before departure to avoid roaming surcharges.

Sustainability & ethics

The Roam 6 is packaged in 100% recycled cardboard with no plastic inserts. The device itself is made from recyclable polycarbonate, and the company offsets carbon emissions for every unit shipped. Roam also partners with e‑waste recycling programs.
