How it compares
OceanSaver differs from tablets by using a liquid concentrate encased in a dissolvable film. This typically results in a faster mixing time than compressed tablets. Compared to big-box store refills, these drops take up 1/20th of the space and use 100% plant-based ingredients rather than petrochemicals or ammonia.
How to use it
- Place one EcoDrop into a clean 750ml (25oz) spray bottle.
- Fill the bottle with lukewarm water up to the neck.
- Wait for the pod to dissolve; the film will disappear completely.
- Give the bottle a quick shake to ensure the concentrate is evenly distributed.
- Spray onto glass or mirrors and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.
"I love that I don't even have to open a tube or measure anything. Just drop it in and it's ready to go." — Verified buyer
Sustainability & ethics
OceanSaver is dedicated to eliminating single-use plastic. Their EcoDrops are shipped in cardboard packaging and the film is made of PVOH, which dissolves into water without creating microplastics. They are a Leaping Bunny certified brand, ensuring no animal testing at any stage of production.
Pro tip
Don't cut the pod! The film is designed to dissolve on its own; cutting it will just create unnecessary mess.
Frequently asked questions
Does the film leave microplastics?
No, the PVOH film is fully water-soluble and biodegradable, breaking down into carbon and water.
Can I use a smaller bottle?
The concentrate is optimized for 750ml (25oz); using a smaller bottle will result in a very high concentration that might cause streaking.
Is OceanSaver Glass Cleaner EcoDrop worth it?
Yes, it is highly rated for effectiveness and is one of the most convenient refill systems on the market.
How does it compare to a standard spray?
It provides the same degreasing power as a standard spray but without the ammonia smell or the plastic waste.
Pros
- ✓Instantly dissolvable film means no waiting for tablets to break down.
- ✓Zero-mess application as nothing needs to be poured or measured.
- ✓Concentrated formula saves a significant amount of shipping energy.
