Key features & specs

How it compares

Compared to traditional carnauba-based quick detailers, Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer offers significantly better water beading and surface slickness that lasts through rain showers. While it provides less cleaning power than a specialized waterless wash, it offers more protection and a deeper shine than standard soapy water. It's the ideal middle ground for those who have an existing wax or sealant and want to extend its life.

How to use it

1. Ensure the car is cool to the touch and in the shade for best results.
2. Mist the spray onto a single section of the paintwork at a time.
3. Quickly spread the product with a clean, high-gsm microfiber towel.
4. Flip the towel to a dry side and perform a final wipe to reveal the high-gloss shine.
5. Avoid using on heavily muddy surfaces as this can cause scratching; use only for light dust and bird droppings.

"The water beading I get from this spray is incredible; it makes maintenance washes so much faster because the dirt just slides off." — Verified buyer

Sustainability & ethics

Meguiar's has optimized this formula to be free of animal-derived waxes, opting instead for advanced synthetic polymers. By allowing users to clean light dust without a hose, the product significantly reduces household water consumption. The 2026 production model features a refined trigger mechanism designed for durability to encourage the use of bulk refill sizes, reducing overall plastic waste.

Frequently asked questions

Is Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer worth it?

Yes, it is worth it because it provides a bridge between washes, keeping your car clean and protected with minimal effort.

Does it remove car wax?

No, it is formulated to safely boost and reinforce your existing wax or sealant rather than stripping it away.

How does it compare to a waterless wash?

This is better for gloss and water beading on light dust, whereas a waterless wash is better for slightly heavier dirt levels.

Can it be used in direct sunlight?

While best used in shade, the 2026 formula is designed to be more forgiving in heat than previous versions, though rapid drying should be avoided.
