Key features & specs

How it compares

Compared to traditional bleach tablets like Ty-D-Bol or Clorox, BLUELAND uses a mineral-based formula that is gentler on both plumbing and the environment. While bleach tablets may whiten more aggressively, BLUELAND offers peace of mind for those concerned about chemicals, packaging waste, and animal testing. It also outperforms many other ‘natural’ drop-ins in terms of fizzing action and overall clean.

How to use it

1. Remove the paper tube and compostable inner bag — the only waste is the bag (which can be composted industrially).
2. Drop two tablets directly into the toilet bowl (not the tank) and let them fizz for 2-3 minutes.
3. Use the included reusable silicone cleaning stick (sold separately or in starter set) to scrub stubborn rings if needed.
4. Flush to reveal a clean, lavender-scented bowl.
5. Repeat weekly or as needed.

"I switched from bleach tablets to Blueland and haven't looked back. The lavender scent is soothing, my toilet is clean, and I feel good about not adding plastic to the landfill." — Verified buyer

Sustainability & ethics

Blueland is a leader in sustainable cleaning: the tablets’ packaging is entirely plastic-free, certified by Leaping Bunny for cruelty-free practices, and the company uses carbon-neutral shipping. The tablets themselves are made from food-grade ingredients, biodegradable, and free from bleach, ammonia, and phthalates. The brand also partners with Pledge 1% to give back to environmental causes.

Frequently asked questions

Are BLUELAND toilet bowl tablets as effective as bleach tablets?

For everyday cleaning and light stains, they are very effective; for heavy mineral deposits, you may need an occasional deep clean with a brush.

Can I use these in the toilet tank instead of the bowl?

No, these are designed for bowl use only — dropping them in the tank may cause over-sudsing and damage to internal mechanisms.

Is the Wild Lavender scent natural?

Yes, the scent comes from essential oils, with no synthetic fragrances or phthalates.

How long does one set last?

With 24 tablets (12 uses), a set typically lasts 2-3 months when used weekly.

Is this product safe for septic systems?

Absolutely — the formula is non-toxic, biodegradable, and entirely safe for septic tanks and wastewater treatment.
